Ashley Byers (b.1988) is from Springfield, Missouri. She grew up working summers at her family’s business on Table Rock Lake in a small town called Shell Knob, Missouri. Byers graduated from Missouri State University with a BFA in painting and received her MFA from the University of Arkansas. She has participated in juried shows nationwide as well as symposiums in Arkansas and Alabama and recently showed in Iran. She has received numerous grants and awards, including the MFA Project grant, a fellowship at Mildred’s Lane, and the Governor’s Scholarship. Byers is currently based in Fayetteville, Arkansas where she continues her Ozark-based research and studio practice. She is also the Education Program Manager at the Community Creative Center and co-directs FEAST Gallery, a contemporary art space.
